Li Changhai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binzhou University, Li Weinian, , member of the Party Committee and Vice President, and Guo Xinwei, member of the Party Committee and Vice President, went to the scene to inspect and guide the welcome work for new students, and visited the new students who came to report their arrivals. The university leaders went to the new students’ reception point to express condolences to the students and staff, inquired in detail about the new students’ registration process, dormitory environment and material preparation, learning the new students’ registration situation, and expressed sincere gratitude and full recognition for the hard work of the staff. The university leaders required that all relevant departments and secondary colleges should attach great importance to the work of welcoming new students, adhere to student-centered principles and provide attentive and thoughtful services for registration and enrollment, so that new students can truly feel the love and warmth from the university and every new student can smoothly register. At the welcoming spot, the university leaders had a friendly conversation with the new students and encouraged them to cherish their youth, continue to strive, continuously improve their comprehensive qualities and develop excellent abilities.
The campus was crowded with people, with bright red banners flying lightly in the wind, cute new smiling faces blooming brightly and enthusiastic welcoming atmosphere everywhere. To ensure the smooth progress of the welcome work, the university made comprehensive arrangement, with close cooperation and enthusiastic service from all secondary colleges and departments. The university arranged special buses early in the morning to welcome new students. The directors and relevant staff of departments such as Enrollment and Employment Department, Student Affairs Department, Youth League Committee, Security Department, Finance Department and Logistics Management Department provided services such as registration, logistics support and security for new students. Each secondary college had set up distinctive reception desks for new students’ registration. The college leaders, teachers, counselors, class advisors and student volunteers worked together to welcome new students, actively maintained real-time interaction with new students through WeChat and QQ groups, answered the questions raised by the students, and continuously improved the service level of the welcome work. The convenient, efficient, warm and thoughtful one-stop service won unanimous praise from the freshmen and their parents.
It was reported that Binzhou University had admitted a total of 6402 new students this year, including 4100 undergraduate students, 312 students upgrading from junior colleges and 1990 junior college students.
