From June 9th to 11th, the International Symposium of "Sun Tzu Military Science and Oriental Wisdom" hosted by our school, the secretariat of Binzhou Sun Tzu Research Association and Sun Tzu Research Institute of our university was held in the third lecture hall of the Academia Hall of our school. Mr. Liu Chunhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, the President; Wang Fangzheng, Vice Chairman of the Binzhou Municipal CPPCC; Zhang Jianshe, Chairman of the Shandong Sun Tzu Research Association, and Yao Youzhi, former Chairman of the Chinese Sun Tzu Research Association, attended the meeting. Zhang Youzhe, member of the Party Committee and Vice President, presided over the meeting, and the Sun Tzu research institutions from the United States, Russia, Japan, and Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, and the People’s Liberation Army’s Academy of Military Sciences and National Defense University. More than 80 experts and scholars from Renmin University of China, Central China Normal University, and Henan University attended the meeting.
Liu Chunhua, on behalf of the school, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the attending leaders, experts, and scholars for their visits. She introduced the basic situation of the school from the aspects of school conditions, faculty, personnel training, and characteristics of running schools. She pointed out that the convening of the seminar provided a platform for academic communication and sharing of achievements for the majority of Sun Tzu’s military researchers. It will surely make Sun Tzu’s art of war merge with traditional culture and contemporary culture better and accelerate the creative transformation of Sun Tzu’s The Art of War in the new era glow brighter brilliance. She stated that our school will give full play to its resource advantages in the research field of Sun Tzu and, together with colleagues in the academic community, deepen exchanges and cooperation, cherish academic ideas, respond to real needs, inherit and promote Sun Tzu’s military culture, and spare no effort to promote Sun Tzu culture for the benefit of human society. Promote Oriental wisdom to better serve the international community.
In his speech, Wang Fang pointed out that this meeting is a grand event in the research field of Sun Tzu’s cultural theory, which is conducive to exploring and excavating the broad and profound Sun Tzu culture, promoting the exchange of theories and mutual integration, and helping expand and innovate means of promoting Sun Tzu’s culture and promote The in-depth and comprehensive cooperation and development at home and abroad will help improve the influence of Binzhou Sun Tzu culture and enhance the grade and level of the brand of “Sun Tzu's Hometown”. Zhang Jianqing expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the meeting and highly evaluated the role played by Sun Tzu Research Institute and Binzhou Sun Tzu Research Society in the research and dissemination of Sun Tzu. He pointed out that the holding of the international academic conference responded to the call of the state to inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation. Yao Youzhi fully affirmed the university’s role as the core and radiation of Sun Tzu’s hometown in military research, dissemination, and application. He pointed out that the convening of this meeting on the occasion of China’s second cultural and Natural Heritage Day is of great significance.
