On the afternoon of May 18th, the school's discipline construction and scientific research work promotion meeting was held in the Lixue Lecture Hall. Li Weinian, member of the party committee and vice president, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
Li Weinian first affirmed the achievements of our school's discipline construction and scientific research under the pandemic situation, analyzed the major challenges faced, and pointed out the existing problems. For the next step, he claimed that, first, the awareness of the importance of discipline construction and scientific research should be further improved. The University should unify the ideology, improve the position, realize the importance of strengthening the discipline construction and scientific research work, and effectively enhance the consciousness and initiative of the work. Second, the measures to focus on discipline construction and scientific research work should be further refined. Based on the shortcomings of various disciplines, it is necessary to implement precise policies, and solve the problems step by step; scientific research work should aim at the main goals, grasp key issues, and strive for new breakthroughs. Third, the efforts to strengthen the construction of academic ethics and academic integrity should be intensified. It is necessary to carry forward the warning actitivities for the majority of scientific research workers, strengthen the control inspection and rectification, and implement zero tolerance for academic misconduct based on the policies of the superior and the actual situation of our school. Fourth, the organization and leadership of discipline construction and scientific research should be further implemented. Party and government leaders must strictly implement one post and two responsibilities, strengthen the guidance and supervision of discipline construction and scientific research work, ensure the standardized operation of various governance systems, and use of discipline construction and scientific research funds.
The person in charge of the Graduate Division reported the progress of the previous work and made arrangements for the next step of discipline construction and graduate education; the person in charge of the Scientific Research Division decomposed the scientific research task indicators of each secondary unit and optimized the annual scientific research work assessment indicator system and the receipt of scientific research funds.
The heads of the Scientific Research Office and the Graduate Office, the deans of the secondary colleges, the heads of the direct scientific research institutions, subject leaders, scientific research secretaries, and subject secretaries attended the meeting.
