From April 24th to April 28th, the 2023 Annual Conference of the National Alliance for the Development of Graduate Education of Applied Universities and the Second Forum on the Development of Graduate Education of Applied Universities, organized by China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Association and undertaken by Guangxi University of Finance and Economics, have been held in Nanning City, Guangxi Province. Li Weinian, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Binzhou University, led the relevant leaders of Graduate Department to participate in the forum.
The theme of this forum is “Implementing the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Serving New Needs, Accelerating the High-quality Development of Graduate Education of Applied Universities”. The forum is divided into high-end forums and president forums. Professor Zhang Shulin, Vice President of China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Association and former Vice President of University of Science and Technology of China, Wang Zhanjun, Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology and Vice President of China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Association and Zhou Wenhui, Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, member of China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Association and President of China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Magazine, respectively made special speeches focusing on implementing the spirits of the National Conference on Graduate Education, implementing the fundamental tasks of cultivating morality and talents, accelerating high-quality talent cultivation and deepening education reforms, and the leaders from 17 other universities across the country made exchange speeches. Li Weinian had extensive communication and exchanges with other attendees, and reached a consensus with relevant universities to conduct in-depth cooperation and exchanges in graduate education in the future.
The National Alliance for the Development of Graduate Education of Applied Universities is jointly initiated and established by 62 applied universities, aiming to implement the spirits of the National Graduate Education Conference, explore the laws and development paths of graduate education of applied universities, and improve the quality of graduate education. The Alliance focuses on extensive and in-depth cooperation in system construction, degree program construction and development, postgraduate training, tutor and management team construction, postgraduate enrollment publicity and other aspects, strengthens the research on postgraduate education and teaching of applied universities, innovates postgraduate training models, explores the cultivation and evaluation standards of professional degree graduates of applied universities, and provides research reports and suggestions for relevant departments to formulate education policies for professional degree of postgraduates, and promotes “serving needs and characteristic development” of graduate education of applied universities in China.
